Job Description:

RCL specialise in the civil and structural design of electricity substation asset build and refurbishments and are involved in projects ranging from new build to modifications of existing sites from concept to completion. We also produce design and detailing works for various other sectors and clients involving a variety of schemes from steel framed structures, foundations, infrastructure and works within the water treatment industry. With a strong and varied client base, we offer a consistently busy pipeline of interesting, technically challenging, and rewarding engineering projects.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, proactive individual with a strong engineering background who is passionate about delivering high quality projects. About the Role:

As our Project Engineer you will play a key role in coordinating project activities, managing project documentation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhering to NEC4 standards, and working collaboratively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

This role is ideal for someone with project management capabilities, technical understanding of civil or structural engineering principles, and the ability to work effectively under pressure within an integrated team.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Experience of planning and monitoring progress of design tasks
  • Able to produce and update MS Project programmes
  • Can facilitate internal and external design review meetings
  • Has knowledge of NEC4 contract standards
  • Can prepare project status reports and support regular client communications
  • Monitor project financial performance, budgets, and compensation events
  • Provide engineering and constructability support where requiredReview design risk assessments and support safety focused project delivery
  • Ensure all activities comply with quality, health & safety, environmental, and legal obligations
