A fast-paced, technology-driven trading firm based in London, supporting high-performance trading across global markets are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Support Engineer to provide first-class technical support to front-office traders, quants, and business users. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a demanding environment where responsiveness, precision, and strong technical expertise are essential.
You will act as a senior escalation point, lead support initiatives, and help drive continuous improvements across desktop and end-user services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop support in a fast-paced trading environment
- Deliver white-glove support to front-office users, including traders and executives
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and networking issues with minimal downtime
- Support trading floor technologies, market data applications, and low-latency environments
- Manage and maintain Windows desktop environments (Windows 10/11)
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and user access controls
- Support Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and endpoint management platforms
- Build, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams
- Drive automation and process improvements within desktop support
- Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in desktop support, ideally within financial services or trading environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, hardware troubleshooting, and performance optimisation
- Experience supporting trading floor environments or high-pressure business users
- Solid understanding of:
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 / Exchange / Teams
- Experience with endpoint management tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with senior stakeholders
- Experience with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters)
- Exposure to virtual desktop environments (VDI)
