Fire Alarm Engineer

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a well-established building services contractor based in Wembley. This is a permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary, company van, and fuel card. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and fault finding of a variety of fire alarm systems across commercial and residential properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently to minimise system downtime.
  • Commission new fire alarm installations.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive call-outs.
  • Work on a range of manufacturer systems, ensuring compliance with current industry standards.
  • Complete all relevant documentation and service reports accurately.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and colleagues.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 5839 and current health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience installing, servicing, and commissioning fire alarm systems.
  • Experience working with a range of fire alarm manufacturers (such as Gent, Advanced, Morley, Kentec, C-TEC, Apollo, Hochiki, Notifier, or similar).
  • Good understanding of BS 5839 and relevant fire safety standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
