Are you an experienced Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) Design Engineer looking to work on one of the UK’s most technically challenging nuclear programmes? The Role

As a CE&I Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing and developing engineering designs from concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with nuclear standards and project requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing CE&I design documentation, calculations and engineering deliverables
  • Developing electrical, control and instrumentation designs, schematics and layouts
  • Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and technical reports
  • Ensuring designs comply with Sellafield engineering standards, safety cases and site licence conditions
  • Supporting design reviews and providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering, safety, construction and commissioning teams
  • Identifying and resolving technical design challenges to support successful project delivery

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a CE&I Design Engineer within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry
  • Experience producing detailed electrical, control and instrumentation design packages
  • Strong understanding of relevant BS EN, IEC and industry standards
  • Knowledge of engineering design processes, calculations and technical documentation
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working on Sellafield projects or within the UK nuclear industry
  • Familiarity with nuclear design substantiation and engineering assurance processes
  • Experience supporting projects from concept through to installation and commissioning
  • Current SC Clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance
