Role Summary
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our Finance team and the Group IT department. Your primary responsibility will be to provide financial insights, analysis, and strategic support to enhance decision‑making within these business units. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving financial performance.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide insightful analysis that links financial data to business strategies, collaborate with department heads to interpret financial results and recommend corrective actions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Work closely with Group IT functional leaders to develop annual budgets and forecasts; monitor actual spending against budgeted amounts and identify areas for optimisation; assist in resource allocation decisions based on financial projections.
- Business Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to the Group IT team, understanding their objectives and challenges; foster strong relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and internal controls; collaborate with internal audit teams to address any identified gaps.
- Performance Metrics and Dashboards: Develop and maintain performance dashboards for Group IT; provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements.
Experience/Qualifications
A financial professional with strong competencies in both management accounting and finance business partnering.
- Essential experience in managing an FP&A cycle, with scrutiny and oversight of actuals reporting.
- Experience managing capitalisation and exceptional items reporting, particularly relating to intangible IT assets.
- Experience working with third‑party finance outsourcing partners.
- A history of steering business decisions from a finance perspective.
- Track record of driving change in an ambiguous and fast‑moving environment.
- Hands‑on approach to delivering results.
- Granular analysis of business cases and their underlying drivers, leveraging insights to drive action.
- Seeing recommendations through to realised benefits.
- Stakeholder management with resilience to overcome resistance.
