Overview
At St John Ambulance, we are developing our volunteering offer to be an integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. We are seeking people who are passionate about helping others, care about their communities, and want to make a difference by sharing first aid skills and knowledge.
As a Community First Aider, you will deliver first aid to those in need at local events and provide public education to grow the ripple effect of First Aid.
Volunteer role and responsibilities
- Deliver first aid at local events as part of the Community First Aider role.
- Provide education to the public to promote first aid awareness and skills.
- Support the growth of community partnerships, engaging people in our cause, growing membership and fundraising, and spreading the message that “First Aid Saves Lives.”
What you can expect
- A proper induction to volunteering with SJA and training for the role you take on.
- A supportive environment while volunteering with us.
- Access to information about volunteer roles via role descriptions and the volunteer charter.
Events and induction/training dates
- We will run several information events locally. Details (date, time, location) will be advised.
- A volunteering selection session will be held (date, time, location to be advised).
- If successful, you will undertake induction and training for the role on the following dates (to be advised):
- Welcome Event (Induction) – date, time, location to be advised
- Training for the role – date, time, location to be advised
