Overview

Position: Depot Manager

Location: Bristol

Salary: Up to £57,000 + Company Car + Performance Bonus (10% of base salary)

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm (39 hours)

Depot Manager Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced HGV Depot Manager to take charge of our busy Bristol depot and drive operational excellence in a thriving, growing business. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop your team – driving performance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and act as the go-to contact for service and operational issues.
  • Deliver on key performance metrics including productivity, compliance, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Oversee resource planning, workshop scheduling, and cost control.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety, DVSA, and industry standards.
  • Report on branch performance and contribute to wider business planning.

Experience and qualifications

  • Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within an HGV or commercial vehicle workshop.
  • Strong technical understanding of HGV maintenance and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • A proactive, customer-first approach and commercial mindset.
  • Confident with IT systems and workshop management software.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential).
