Machine Shop Team Leader (CNC Milling & Turning)
Swadlincote, Derbyshire | circa 45k + Regular Overtime | Monday-Friday | Permanent Looking to step into a more hands-off supervisory role while still staying close to the machining process? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK engineering manufacturer supplying bespoke equipment into highly regulated industries. This is an opportunity to lead a small, busy machine shop, taking responsibility for planning workloads, supporting another machinist, and ensuring quality components are delivered on time. You’ll remain technically involved, programming and machining complex one-off and low-volume precision components, but with greater ownership of the day-to-day running of the shop.
We’re looking for:
- 5+ years’ CNC Milling & Turning experience
- Strong CNC programming skills
- Previous Team Leader or supervisory experience (or someone ready to step up)
- Experience machining stainless steel and working to tight tolerances
- Ability to manufacture one-off and prototype components
- Confident reading engineering drawings
Experience with Hurco lathes and milling machines would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Salary: Circa 45k plus regular overtime.
