Overview

Technology is transforming the future of rail, and at Hitachi Rail we’re developing the software that helps make that future possible. We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our AssetView team, creating innovative digital solutions that help keep rail networks safe, reliable and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications, web solutions and databases.
• Build scalable, high‑quality front‑end and back‑end solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across software, engineering and product teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, validation and continuous improvement activities.
• Support the delivery of robust, maintainable and customer‑focused software products.
• Explore new technologies and approaches that improve products and ways of working.

About You

• Experience in modern software development and strong foundations in object‑oriented programming, web development and database technologies.
• Experience with technologies such as C#, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL and cloud platforms such as Azure would be particularly valuable.
• Enjoys tackling challenging technical problems.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
• Takes pride in delivering high‑quality software.
• Is curious, adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.
• Communicates effectively with both technical and non‑technical colleagues.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is welcome, but we are equally interested in candidates who have developed their expertise through hands‑on industry experience.
