The Role And Responsibilities

As a People Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in shaping a positive, progressive people and culture experience across your assigned directorates. You’ll work closely with leaders and managers to co‑create an annual People Plan that supports organisational priorities and strengthens how colleagues work, develop and thrive. By using data and meaningful insight, you’ll help measure the impact of people initiatives and ensure they contribute to TPR’s wider purpose of keeping savers safe.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner and the main connection into the People Team—helping colleagues navigate a wide range of HR matters with clarity and confidence. You’ll collaborate closely with People Team specialists to deliver seamless, joined‑up solutions, while acting as an advocate for positive change across the organisation. You’ll also support People Managers with their learning and development, helping to build capability and nurture a culture of inclusion, respect and continuous improvement. This is a role where your work has real influence—strengthening both colleague experience and organisational outcomes.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience working as a generalist HR Business Partner.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to build strong partnering relationships at all levels, including with ExCo leaders.
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively and make balanced decisions.
  • Ability to work tactically and operationally while keeping sight of strategic goals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to personal development and growth.
  • Experience partnering internally and externally with relevant departments or industries.
