Job Description:

Executive (Senior Manager) – Data & Analytics | Ashurst Risk Advisory, London

Ashurst Risk Advisory was created to respond to client demand and is designed to provide risk expertise that complements Ashurst’s core legal services. With dedicated teams of legal and risk professionals working side by side, it brings together the technical expertise and critical thinking required to operationalise laws and regulations and help clients to achieve their goals. After successfully establishing the division in Australia in 2020, we launched our UK practice in October 2022 as part of our continued growth journey.

We provide the opportunity to be part of this exciting growth story, working with an expertise‑led team that has been consistently growing since its inception and is dedicated to collaboration, diversity, transparency and innovation. Our vision is to create a unique culture in the consulting market based around a flat, collaborative structure that offers everyone the opportunity to work closely with Directors, Partners and clients on engagements. This means you have on‑the‑job training with your leaders, direct involvement with business development, clear recognition for your performance and greater career opportunities.

The Opportunity

This is a significant opportunity for an experienced forensic data analytics professional to join our growing Data & Analytics team in London at the Executive level (equivalent to a Senior Manager in Big 4 consulting), taking ownership of complex, high‑stakes client matters and playing a leading role in an expertise‑led practice.

You will sit at the intersection of legal, risk and data, leading the delivery of data solutions across investigations, litigation, class actions, cyber incident response, financial crime and regulatory matters. Alongside delivery, you will run client engagements end‑to‑end with Director and Partner support, lead proposal and proposition development, and play an active role in growing and mentoring the team.

Qualifications

  • Experienced consulting or advisory professionals with 5‑10 years in forensic analytics, data risk or risk advisory, ideally within a consulting firm, regulatory body or in‑house function with significant exposure to legal or regulatory proceedings.
  • Able to lead complex, data‑driven engagements and communicate findings clearly to legal and non‑technical audiences.
  • Hands‑on across one or more of: investigations, litigation, class actions, cyber incident response, financial crime or regulatory enforcement, with a clear understanding of the relevant risk, regulatory and compliance context.
  • Comfortable owning client matters end‑to‑end, including scoping, resourcing, budget stewardship and quality assurance, and acting as a trusted point of contact on live engagements.
  • Active contributor to business development, including proposals, client pursuits and market‑facing initiatives, and motivated to help grow a practice from start‑up to scale‑up.
  • Genuinely invested in supporting and developing more junior team members.
  • Confident and composed in complex, high‑pressure situations, willing to put forward a clear point of view while remaining open to other perspectives.
  • Familiar with tools such as Python, SQL, Databricks, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau and GenAI tooling, and ideally with eDiscovery platforms, forensic collection techniques, legal hold processes or data management frameworks (equivalent tools and frameworks are also welcome).

Benefits

  • Flexible work options
  • Market‑leading parental leave of 26 weeks paid leave irrespective of gender
  • Health and wellbeing benefits, gym membership (discounted memberships) and corporate health plans
  • Genuine opportunities to grow your career through secondments or global opportunities
  • Extensive Learning & Development opportunities including tailored professional development for all employees, coaching, mentoring and study support for further education
  • Strong commitment to social impact, demonstrated by extensive volunteering and pro‑bono opportunities and award‑winning social inclusion and mobility programmes
  • Committed to reaching net‑zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050
