The Trust is looking to recruit a part time Consultant either a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or a Consultant Paediatrician to join our CAIST team recognising that a large part of the work involves liaising and working alongside our colleagues in the local acute Trusts including Paediatricians and other medical Consultants.
Main duties of the job
This post relates to the Children’s Assessment and Intensive Support Team (CAIST) who provide urgent assessments for service users under 18 years old presenting in crisis across Norfolk including within the 3 acute Trusts in Norfolk and Waveney (The James Paget University Trust, The Norfolk & Norwich University Trust and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital) and brief intensive support to service users that need it.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Entry on the GMC Register
- Approved clinician status
- Section 12(2) Approved under the Mental Health Act (MHA)
- Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCST
Experience
- 3 years or equivalent medical experience
- 6 months experience in relevant clinical area
- Evidence of knowledge of diagnosis, treatment + management of complex mental illness
Attributes
- Driving Licence/able to travel independently
Clinical Governance
- A clear understanding of Clinical Governance
- Demonstrate a commitment to open review of practice
Teaching
- Experience of supervising junior medical staff
- Teaching and presentation skills
