We are seeking a skilled and versatile Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and carrying out small works across a range of electronic security systems. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who is confident working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and fault-find, on a variety of security systems including:
- CCTV systems
- Access Control systems
- Intruder Alarm systems
- Carry out small works, system upgrades and minor installations as required
- Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to minimise system downtime
- Work with IP-based systems and demonstrate strong competency in networking (IP addressing, switches, connectivity issues, etc.)
- Complete all relevant documentation and reports accurately
- Liaise with clients on-site, providing a professional and knowledgeable service
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Security Engineer within the fire and security industry
- Multi-disciplined knowledge across CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Detection systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of IP networks and networked security systems
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Certifications & Licences
- Valid ECS/CSCS Card
- IPAF Licence (desirable)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Flexibility to work away from home on occasion, including overnight stays where required
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with leading security platforms (e.g. Genetec, Milestone, TDSI, etc.)
