Our client, a globally recognised organisation with a highly respected and well-established brand, is seeking to appoint an experienced Company Secretary on an interim basis to provide cover for a key leadership role.

This is a broad, hands-on position offering exposure to a wide range of governance activities, including PLC obligations, subsidiary oversight and involvement in significant strategic initiatives.

The role will suit a versatile individual who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and able to balance strategic input with day-to-day delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of the governance function, including line management of three junior team members.
  • Oversee subsidiary governance across the group, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of corporate governance.
  • Support and contribute to share plan activity, where required.
  • Work closely on matters relating to governance considerations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain and enhance PLC governance standards, ensuring alignment with best practice and regulatory expectations.
  • Support senior stakeholders with governance advice, ensuring clear, pragmatic and commercially aligned guidance.
  • Assist with the smooth running of Board and Committee processes as required.

About You

  • Available for an immediate start
  • You are an experienced governance professional with a strong background in PLC environments.
  • You bring a flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage a varied and evolving workload.
  • You are comfortable working at pace and able to operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • You have a solid understanding of corporate governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • You are a confident communicator, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
