Acre Overview

Acre is rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a completely new, end-to-end management system for mortgages. Our platform cuts out the unnecessary admin, pain and friction from buying a home. We’re covering the entire journey, from figuring out what you can borrow, to getting your keys. We’re guided by the voice of real home buyers and by our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers.

Over the past year, mortgage submissions through our platform have grown by 200%, a clear sign that we’re helping mortgage businesses scale faster and smarter. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for ambitious people to join us in transforming the industry and shaping the future of home buying.

The start of 2026 has already been exciting, as Acre is now part of The ClearScore Group. This partnership strengthens our ability to innovate and deliver the best mortgage and protection platform.

The Role

We are looking for a graduate with a passion for frontend development who wants to be a part of a fast‑growing startup that is transforming the way we buy homes.

Your role will be to work closely with the engineering team to help build out the platform in a manner that is highly reliable, consistent and secure. You will be highly motivated, technology‑agnostic and proud of the work you produce.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining our Frontend team, responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the user interfaces that empower consumers, brokers and operational functions to efficiently manage the home buying process.

As part of your role, you’ll work with modern and reliable frameworks and languages. You’ll deep‑dive into React to write our components, use TypeScript to make sure we have strongly typed JavaScript, and Apollo and Context for our state management. These will be your bread and butter, but you may also encounter some RxJS and Handlebars.

You will be expected to write reusable, tested and efficient code that is always production ready and to be responsible for the whole lifecycle of the components you build.

Who You Will Be

  • Passionate about software engineering and delivering a quality product.
  • Have an understanding of automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Have an understanding of security and reliability concerns.
  • Experience with a range of languages, frameworks and patterns.
  • Have a 2:1 or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other scientific disciplines, or equivalent experience.

What We Offer

  • A chance to make an impact within a high‑growth fintech start‑up.
  • Monthly team social events, from trips to Brighton to picnics in the park.
  • One week of free accommodation for those relocating.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Opportunity to earn equity through our EMI option scheme.
  • Company laptop and supporting tech.
  • Private healthcare and a cash plan.
  • Pension contribution matched by Acre up to 4%.
  • Cycle‑to‑work scheme.
  • Breakfast, snacks and drinks provided in our vibrant Shoreditch office.
