# **DevOps Engineer – Autonomous Subsea Systems****Location: Bristol, UK****Approach:** Hybrid Remote, typically 2-3 days per week in the office**Contract:** Permanent, full-timeWe build autonomous systems for subsea robotics and the software platforms that control, monitor, and analyse them, supporting demanding real‐world operations where reliability really matters. We are evolving our infrastructure from a hybrid AWS setup to a modern, on‐prem Kubernetes platform, and we host a growing number of internal services that support our engineering and operations teams.# **About the role**We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team and work closely with our existing DevOps Engineer and the Global Head of DevOps. This is a junior–mid role, ideal for someone with a couple of years’ experience who wants to deepen their skills by helping to **own** and evolve a real Kubernetes platform and developer experience. You will act as key support and backup for the current DevOps Engineer, including covering when they are on leave, and you will gradually take ownership of parts of the platform as your experience grows. From time to time, you may accompany developers for wet‐testing trials of ROVs and software, getting hands‐on exposure to how our autonomous systems are used in the field.## # **What you can expect*** Help own, operate, and evolve our Kubernetes‐based platform (on‐prem, with some legacy AWS).* Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.* Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, and GitOps with ArgoCD.* Improve observability using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Loki, and Grafana (metrics, logs, traces, SLOs).* Work closely with product and software teams to improve developer experience (tooling, pipelines, environments, documentation).* Contribute to reliability work, including incident response, post‐incident reviews, and capacity considerations (no formal on‐call rota today).* Help drive continuous improvement as we migrate more workloads to on‐prem Kubernetes and refine our platform.* Occasionally support wet‐testing trials of ROVs and software alongside developers, ensuring our platform and tooling work smoothly in realistic conditions.# # **Our tech stack**You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you should be keen to learn and comfortable working close to this stack:* Infrastructure: Legacy AWS, moving towards on‐prem infrastructure.* Orchestration: Kubernetes (core platform you’ll work on).* IaC & automation: Terraform, Helm, Ansible, ArgoCD (GitOps).* CI/CD: GitHub Actions.* Observability: Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Grafana.* Languages: Python and C++ in our products; scripting/automation typically in Python, Go, or shell (we don’t build full applications in Go, but use it where it’s a good fit for tooling).* Hardware: NVIDIA GPU‐based systems; experience with NVIDIA tooling or GPU workloads is a strong plus.# # **What you bring*** You have roughly 2–4 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform, Infrastructure, or similar role, or equivalent practical experience.* You have a solid understanding of Linux and containers, and some hands‐on experience with Kubernetes, or strong Kubernetes fundamentals and a clear desire to deepen them.* You have practical experience with at least some of: Terraform, Helm, Ansible, ArgoCD, or similar IaC/automation tooling.* You are familiar with CI/CD concepts and have used at least one CI system in production (GitHub Actions is a plus).* You can write scripts or small tools in Python, Go, or shell to automate repetitive work and glue systems together.* You care about reliability, automation, and developer experience, and you enjoy collaborating with software engineers.* You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment with a mix of cloud and on‐prem systems and commuting to Bristol at least 2 days per week.* You are open to occasionally supporting wet‐testing trials of ROVs and software as part of understanding how our systems are used.**Desirable Skills:*** Experience running Kubernetes in production or managing clusters beyond local development.* Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.* Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).* Experience with NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, or GPU‐accelerated workloads.* Exposure to robotics, embedded systems, or other hardware‐adjacent environments.# **How we work*** Hybrid working: Mix of office and remote, with 2 days per week in our Bristol office for collaboration and hands‐on work with on‐prem infrastructure.* Culture: Continuous improvement, automation‐first mindset, and a no‐blame approach to incidents – we focus on understanding what happened and improving the system, not pointing fingers.* Collaboration: You will work closely with the DevOps Engineer you are supporting, as well as robotics, ops and software teams, with plenty of opportunities to learn and influence how we build and run our platform.# # **Look forward to*** Development opportunities and career opportunities in a global, innovative and long-term oriented group of companies with family character* Funded career and learning development opportunities.* Flexible, hybrid working.* 30 days annual leave + bank holidays.* Company pension scheme where all employees receive a standard 10% employer contribution, with no obligation for employee contributions.* Company sponsored life insurance and private medical insurance.* Cycle scheme provided by Green Cycle Initiative.* Competitive remuneration packageMore information about the Rosenxt Group please click here:**Rosenxt** is a forward-thinking technology group — we are visionary architects of progress with decades of engineering excellence.
