The City of Lincoln is looking for a full time Resident Involvement Officer to join its Resident Involvement Team. This is an exciting opportunity which will require the successful candidate to actively engage with and support our tenants and leaseholders so they can contribute their views to service delivery, policy development and other issues which affect them.

This is a varied and challenging role providing support to existing tenant / resident groups, encouraging new groups to form, facilitating focus groups, supporting the residents’ panel and encouraging tenant involvement in scrutiny of services.

The successful candidate will have the ability to provide a high level of customer care, be a good, confident communicator able to cope with a wide variety of situations and have an appreciation of local housing issues affecting the council housing sector, as well as the ability to demonstrate excellent analytical, written and IT skills.

The postholder will seek to further develop tenant / resident participation for the Council. They will work in partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective community engagement which will help inform service planning and delivery, therefore the role requires an element of flexibility as there may be occasions where the postholder will need to work evenings and weekends to support the relevant groups.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing specialist advice and operational support to the Lincoln Tenants Panel, tenant groups, forums and associations on a wide range of tenant related matters.
  • Increasing opportunities for meaningful resident involvement throughout the city, by identifying and developing new methods for tenants to influence, challenge and scrutinise landlord services, and continuously improving existing tenant engagement mechanisms.
  • Co-ordinating all tenant communications for the council’s landlord service across all publication formats including its tenants’ magazine, digital newsletters, website and social media channels.
  • Co-ordinating, collating and interpreting tenant feedback on all aspects of the council’s landlord service, using a wide a range of engagement methods and communicating findings to a range of audiences.
  • Leading on the delivery, facilitation and reporting of effective tenant scrutiny projects and landlord service reviews, ensuring tenants are supported to fully contribute and challenge the council as their landlord.
