Role: Business Development Manager – Private Markets
Location: Central London – 3 days a week in office
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (£90k OTE)
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and entrepreneurial business development manager to join a fast-paced environment in a long-established and highly reputable media business.
This role focuses on building new relationships across private markets and alternative asset managers, supporting a strategic growth area within the business.
This position is ideal for a motivated, tenacious individual looking to develop their career in a dynamic sales environment with strong exposure to global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and engage new prospects across private markets through outreach, lead generation, and pipeline development
- Support senior sales stakeholders in exceeding revenue targets within a growing client segment
- Develop relationships with General Partners (GPs) and other key industry participants
- Contribute to sales strategies targeting private markets and alternative investment managers
- Identify opportunities related to conferences, partnerships, and thought leadership initiatives across EMEA and globally
- Deliver a high standard of client service through a consultative, solutions-focused approach
- Stay informed on market trends, fundraising activity, and the competitive landscape
Experience Required
- University degree or equivalent
- 3–5 years’ experience in sales or a related commercial role
- Background in financial services, ideally within private markets
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Experience in B2B or event/conference sales is beneficial
