Overview

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire is seeking to recruit a band 2 Cardiographer to join a well-respected, multi-disciplinary team across multiple sites, including St Cross Hospital Rugby and the City of Coventry Diagnostic Centre which is currently being developed. This busy diagnostic department offers training and development opportunities across a wide range of diagnostic testing. The department is supported by a friendly team with opportunities to develop the service. The Trust is a large teaching hospital supporting career development for Cardiac Physiology students, Trainee Scientific Practitioners and Echocardiography Trainee Practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role within the team responsible for recording Electrocardiograms (ECGs) in the hospital for outpatients and inpatients as required, attaching ambulatory monitors (ECG and BP) and performing organisational duties associated with these procedures.
  • Support the Cardiac Physiologists, junior cardiographers and students in day-to-day duties, such as preparing patients for tests within the department.
  • Supervise and teach students and other staff members within the trust on relevant tests in line with your skill set.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care with strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with patient queries in person and on the phone.
  • Contribute to teaching and development within the department; support attendance at local and national meetings and participate in research and educational development where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • You will either already hold the SCST Award in Electrocardiography or be working towards the Certificate in Electrocardiography examination in the very near future.

  • Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment would be advantageous.
