Overview

£65,000 – £75,000. Pin Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced Process Safety Specialist to join a leading upper-tier COMAH chemical manufacturing operation. West Thurrock (Site-Based).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and maintain robust process safety management systems.
  • Lead and facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA studies, including 5-year revalidation programmes.
  • Support the development and review of COMAH Safety Reports.
  • Provide specialist advice on: Pressure relief systems; Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS); ATEX/DSEAR compliance; Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA).
  • Ensure all identified risks are reduced to ALARP principles.
  • Develop and manage the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Identify and close gaps in process safety documentation and systems.
  • Support the production and monitoring of Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPIs).
  • Assist with investigations following incidents and drive lessons learned.
  • Deliver training and promote positive safety culture improvements.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within chemical/process manufacturing.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a dedicated Process Safety role.
  • Experience leading HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA studies.
  • Experience working on Upper Tier COMAH sites.
  • Strong understanding of Management of Change systems.
  • Experience developing COMAH Safety Reports.
  • Practical knowledge of Bowtie analysis and human factors.
  • Incident investigation experience.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Process Safety or Loss Prevention.
