Homeworker with designated office in Newton Abbot

36.25 hours per week

This is a role for people who ask “why?”, not just “what?”

At Westward, data doesn’t just live in spreadsheets, it lives in decisions, services, homes and communities. We’re a values‑led housing organisation with a clear social purpose, and we’re looking for a Business and Data Analyst who uses insight, curiosity and collaboration to genuinely make a difference. If you love turning complex data into compelling stories and working with colleagues at every level to drive improvement, this is the role for you.

You’re curious, analytical, collaborative and practical. You don’t just build dashboards – you help people use them.

We’re looking for a confident analyst with proven capability using Power BI, Excel, and SQL Server services who can analyse data, explore solutions and deliver outcomes independently. You will be able to present confidently to a range of audiences, run engaging workshops and build trusted relationships across the organisation. This is a permanent, home working position with a designated office in Newton Abbot. You will be required to regularly attend the office for meetings.

This is a role with real influence, where your work will shape decisions, services and outcomes across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver high‑impact reports, dashboards and visualisations (primarily using Power BI) for both operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Work directly with teams to understand their needs to define clear specifications, solutions and MVPs.
  • Provide data modelling and projection analysis.
  • Manage and respond to reporting and insight requests through our helpdesk.
  • Collate, validate and automate KPI reporting, statistical and government returns.
  • Champion data quality, integrity and governance, including GDPR compliance.

The colleague we’re looking for:

  • An enthusiastic team player who actively contributes ideas.
  • Customer‑focused and outcome‑driven.
  • Self‑disciplined, organised and motivated.
  • Willing to challenge the status quo, while respecting others’ views.
  • Passionate about learning, improvement and innovation.
  • A strong problem‑solver who enjoys finding practical solutions.
  • Has the self‑awareness to know when to seek support and when to lead from the front.

We are not currently in a position to offer employment sponsorships for any of our job vacancies. This role will require no more than a 1.5 hour commutable distance to the office.

Benefits of working for Westward include:

  • A competitive annual salary of £42,804.
  • Company mobile phone.
  • Work from home set‑up.
  • Enhanced 26 days annual leave + Bank Holidays.
  • Healthcare plan with retail discount scheme.
  • Company pension scheme with matched contributions up to 10%.
  • Refer a friend scheme.
  • Colleague and team recognition awards.
  • Training opportunities.

We aim to promote an inclusive environment, which attracts people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to advance the service we provide, for the benefit of all our employees and communities we support.
