About The Role

Mitie are seeking an experienced and highly professional Site Security Manager to lead and oversee all security operations at a high-profile client site within the retail sector. This is a client‑integrated role, requiring daily interaction with key stakeholders, ensuring the safety, security, and continuity of operations across the site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a best‑in‑class security service, maintaining compliance, and fostering a strong security culture aligned with the client’s expectations and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the on‑site security team to deliver a proactive and effective security service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and act as the primary point of contact for all security matters.
  • Ensure compliance with client policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, site audits, and incident investigations.
  • Coordinate incident response and crisis management procedures when required.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and security records.
  • Deliver continuous improvement across all security functions in line with evolving site and business needs.
  • Overall delivery of the physical security contract and all administrative and personnel matters relating to Mitie site security employees; report to Mitie’s local Operations Manager and Senior Operations Manager.
  • Create, implement, and enforce site security policy and procedures, ensuring all SOPs are coherent and up to date.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day physical security operation on behalf of the client, including the administration of the Access Control System and Merlin patrol system.
  • Relay all security‑related incidents to the responsible person and other interested parties, providing an incident report within three hours of the event’s conclusion.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and manage data on behalf of the client; administer all manned guarding personnel matters.
  • Respond to any reasonable request from the Client or Mitie Management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the security industry, ideally in a corporate or retail security management environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in managing client relationships at a senior level.
  • Knowledge of physical security systems, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Current SIA licence (Front Line or Non‑Front Line) and a minimum of Security Guarding level.
  • Current SIA CCTV licence (desirable).
  • Relevant security or risk management qualifications (desirable).
