The Department of Education is seeking to recruit a part-time Lecturer (0.8FTE), for three years, to undertake high-quality teaching within the Department.

About the role
We are seeking someone with excellent knowledge of education as a discipline, including a PhD in this field.
You will be able to supervise research projects for undergraduate and postgraduate Education students as well as teaching skills for research and study in Education.
You will offer a special interest which contributes to our important teaching around education and marginal communities including in the Global South with a focus on one or more of the following:
- educational futures
- education and international/sustainable development
- educational inequalities in global contexts
- contemporary issues for childhood and youth
Whilst there is no expectation you will undertake research in this role, we are committed to research-informed teaching.
You will be expected to undertake scholarly work and to join one of our Department's Research Groups.
About you
You will be an excellent teacher with experience of lecturing in Education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate taught levels in Higher Education.
This should be beyond the level of teaching assistant roles.
You will offer innovative, inclusive learning and assessment approaches for in-person, online and hybrid environments and you will be familiar with distance learning approaches.
You will offer a wide contribution to the life of the Department including a commitment to promoting i) excellence in learning and teaching and ii) a positive community for staff and students based on principles of care, equality, diversity and inclusion.
We are particularly interested in appointing someone from an under-represented group in academia.
