Overview
The Quality & Curriculum Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of curriculum design, delivery, and assessment across Decoded’s apprenticeship programmes.
As part of the Quality & Compliance team, you will manage the development of new apprenticeship AI/digital/leadership programmes, aligning them with Standards and KSBs, and revise existing programmes in line with IfATE (Skills England) timelines. Your role will also ensure the DEAR model is embedded where appropriate, incorporating digital innovation and the latest technologies to respond to evolving industry needs.
Alongside curriculum management, you will drive the IQA process, maintain high standards in LSC & teaching delivery, and keep programmes updated with regulatory requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
Curriculum Assurance/Management
- Lead design and development of new programmes, working with Product Team to align structure, content and assessment with Standards & KSBs.
- Review and improve integration of the DEAR model, cutting‑edge technologies, tools and methodologies.
- Re‑design and continuously improve existing programmes to align with Standards & KSBs.
- Develop and implement robust quality frameworks, embedding wider curriculum elements such as British Values, Maths & English, Prevent, Soft Skills and Digital Skills.
- Lead revision of programme components – assessment plans, End Point Assessment – ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the Skills & Progression Manager to support accreditation and programme approval processes.
Quality
- Line‑manage the IQA team.
- Provide IQA oversight, ensuring quality, integrity, standardisation and best practice.
- Manage the Gateway process to meet EPAO requirements.
- Work with the Head of Learner Success to reduce EPA re‑sits through proactive intervention.
- Drive quality and standardisation during the sampling window, constantly evaluating processes.
- Support sampling of learner submissions, hyper‑care, on‑programme deep dives.
- Manage the OTLA process for the LSC team, monitoring and improving standards to drive excellence; collaborate with the Head of Teaching to improve apprenticeship teaching standards.
Who are you?
Technical Experience & Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of DfE funding rules, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and IfATE (Skills England) requirements.
- Proven experience designing or overseeing apprenticeship curriculum that maps directly to KSBs.
- Significant experience managing Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes and teams, including sampling strategies and Lead IQA roles.
- Track record managing the Gateway process and working with EPAOs to achieve high achievement rates and minimal re‑sits.
- Experience leading OTLA and implementing Quality Improvement Plans to drive pedagogical excellence.
Skills & Competencies
- Digital fluency: strong interest or experience with AI, digital tools, emerging technologies and leadership, comfortable embedding them into learning delivery.
- Analytical mindset: use data from learner submissions, IQA reports and EPA outcomes to identify quality gaps and curriculum revision opportunities.
- Strategic alignment: bridge the gap between Product development and Quality compliance, ensuring DEAR model execution while meeting regulatory standards.
- Leadership: line‑manage and develop a team of IQAs, fostering high expectations and continuous professional development.
- Wider curriculum integration: expert understanding of embedding British Values, Prevent, Safeguarding, and Functional Skills into technical digital programmes.
Qualifications
- IQA Qualification: Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (e.g., V1 or IQA) is essential.
- Teaching Qualification: recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 DET) is highly desirable.
- Assessing Qualification: Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (e.g., A1 or CAVA).
- Subject Matter Expertise: a degree or equivalent professional experience in Digital, Data or Leadership discipline is a significant advantage.
Day‑To‑Day
Working hours are 9am‑5pm Monday‑Friday. You plan your work day around the best outcomes for success and prioritise projects against business needs. The role is fully remote, with occasional in‑person team days for workshops, training sessions and social events.

Salary
£48,000‑£54,000 per annum.
