Project Director | Fit-out & Refurbishment
360 Recruitment are partnering with a leading design & build interior fit-out specialist to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of high-profile commercial projects nationwide.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for project performance, client relationships, and team leadership across multiple fast-paced, high-value schemes.
Job role: Project Director
Location: West Midlands, with travel to sites nationwide
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (dependant on level of experience) + car allowance + package
We are seeking a commercially astute and confident client-facing professional with experience in design & build commercial fit-out and refurbishment. You will have a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including procurement routes and delivery, and be comfortable engaging clients early to shape and convert opportunities.
This role requires a driven individual who can operate at a senior level – interpreting client briefs, uncovering key challenges, and working collaboratively with internal teams to develop practical, high-quality design and build solutions.
Overview of role:
- Lead and convert design & build opportunities, developing winning bid strategies
- Act as a trusted client advisor, building strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Engage stakeholders early, visiting sites to understand requirements and qualify opportunities
- Interpret client briefs, identifying key objectives, constraints, and challenges
- Drive opportunities from initial contact through to pitch, proposal, and project award
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and commercially sound proposals
- Collaborate with design, pre-construction, and delivery teams to develop aligned solutions
- Lead commercial discussions, including negotiation and programme considerations
- Maintain clear communication between clients and internal teams, adapting to evolving requirements
Requirements:
- Strong technical understanding of commercial fit-out and refurbishment construction
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Confident leading meetings and presentations
- Proven experience producing high-quality proposals and winning work
- Strong commercial awareness, including negotiating project financials
- Experience delivering projects typically in the £500k–£2m+ range
- Adaptable and responsive to changing client needs and opportunities
