Strategic Lead – Active Systems – Be Active

A tremendous opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to take on this exciting role within the Active Partnership team covering a recent secondment. Working closely with our director, you will play a critical role in ensuring there are no missed opportunities across local systems to use physical activity as a lever to improve health and wellbeing, particularly for communities who have the most to gain. This is a strategic post, focused on embedding physical activity within local policy, strategy and decision‑making across health, care and wider system partners.

You will be responsible for driving system change through policy influence and strategic leadership, drawing on robust local and national evidence to shape priorities and inform action. We are looking for someone who excels at working collaboratively across sectors, with strong expertise in policy development and influencing, alongside highly developed relationship‑building, stakeholder management and partnership‑working skills to deliver a coordinated, impactful approach to tackling physical inactivity.

You will need to understand the role of the Active Partnership – Be Active and our remit in terms of underpinning the Sport England Strategy, Uniting the Movement. You will need to demonstrate a desire to add value to a successful team.

This post will involve some flexibility around working from home and other bases, with travel around Bedfordshire expected as well as some regional and national travel.

As a Disability Confident Committed employer we offer a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria for the role. If you would like to access this scheme, please make this clear to us when you apply.
