Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Continental Shifts

Talentmark is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis for a business based in Cramlington.

The role involves a continental shift pattern of 12‑hour day and night shifts, with every other weekend off.

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) plus benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance of production equipment.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Conduct calibrations and corrections on equipment such as load cells and temperature controllers.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery and supporting equipment.
• Maintain accurate CMMS records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, permits to work, risk assessments, method statements, LOTO, and ATEX.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and fault‑finding on PLCs (Siemens preferred).
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read electrical drawings.
• Experience with AC/DC drives (Siemens and ABB) and bus network systems (Profibus, Profinet) is desirable.
• Knowledge of ATEX zoning and related regulations.
• Effective problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly.
