Haggerty Jaques are pleased to be working with a well-established, globally connected professional services business with a strong presence in Leeds. They are looking to strengthen their internal risk and contracts function with the addition of a Contract Reviewer.

This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive team where you’ll play a key role in helping the wider business navigate contractual risk and get deals over the line efficiently.

The Role

Sitting within a central risk function, you’ll support operational teams across the business, helping them review, understand and negotiate contractual terms with both clients and suppliers.

Day to day, this will involve:

Reviewing and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts

Supporting teams to move through internal risk processes smoothly and efficiently

Liaising with insurers and brokers around professional indemnity and related queries

Working alongside internal stakeholders and, where needed, external legal teams

Providing practical, solutions-focused advice on contractual issues

Contributing to the ongoing improvement of systems, processes and risk awareness across the business

What They’re Looking For

This role would particularly suit a paralegal with previous commercial contracts experience who is looking to build on their foundations in a more business-facing environment.

Key requirements include:

A law degree (or equivalent), with a minimum 2:1 classification

At least 12 months experience reviewing and/or drafting commercial contracts

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Confidence working with a range of stakeholders across a business

A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Solid IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
