Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Adult Forensic Services inpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to safe, compassionate, recovery‑focused care within a specialist forensic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective care within an acute inpatient environment, supporting individuals with a range of mental health needs.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient‑centred nursing care for a varied caseload.
- Act as a named nurse for designated service users, ensuring continuity of care and meaningful therapeutic engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care pathways.
- Deliver clinical interventions in line with individual care plans and liaise with internal and external services to ensure coordinated pathways.
- Promote dignity and privacy, support practice development, and respond safely to distress, aggression or violence using approved PMVA techniques.
- Help prevent incidents and safeguard patient property.
- Mentor students, support newly qualified staff, participate in audit and research, assist with induction and maintain up‑to‑date PMVA and clinical skills.
- Uphold Trust values, promote equality, ensure high‑quality record keeping, follow health and safety and infection‑prevention requirements, and take responsibility for ongoing learning and development.
Qualifications
- Appropriately qualified, with NMC registration.
- Passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.
- Able to work effectively within a forensic inpatient service.
- Motivated to develop professionally and contribute to a positive team culture.
