Key Accountabilities
- Build and support APIs and microservices, ensuring secure, scalable, and cloud‑aligned solutions.
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure to support microservices and containerised applications using Kubernetes/AKS, Docker, Terraform, and Helm.
- Prepare release content and documentation, contributing to reliable, repeatable deployment processes.
- Establish and improve DevOps practices to streamline deployments and enhance time‑to‑market.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation and participate in peer reviews across the full technology stack.
- Apply effective testing and quality assurance approaches, ensuring solutions meet required standards and security expectations.
- Collaborate across engineering and product teams, support issue resolution, and maintain ongoing professional development
Examples of Key Activities
- Contribute to Agile ways of working by actively participating in stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to clarify requirements, discuss design options, and support smooth delivery of features.
- Write clean, maintainable .NET code following SOLID principles and established coding standards.
- Develop unit and integration tests to support reliable, testable code and ongoing quality improvements.
- Support deployment activities across DTAP environments and assist in implementing CI/CD practices.
- Refactor and troubleshoot code to resolve defects and improve performance.
- Maintain clear documentation through code comments, technical notes, or wiki updates to support knowledge sharing.
- Provide application‑level technical support and participate in cross‑team initiatives such as communities of practice.
What we’re looking for
- Experience within Financial Services desirable
- Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Experience applying SOLID principles and clean coding practices in day‑to‑day development.
- Familiarity with test approaches such as Test‑Driven Development or Behaviour‑Driven Development.
- Ability to work effectively in an Agile team environment and collaborate across disciplines.
- A willingness to learn new skills, adopt emerging technologies, and leverage AI capabilities to enhance software development.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills suited to cross‑team collaboration and documentation.
- Computer science /computing related qualification is essential
