The endoscopy unit, which holds JAG accreditation, undertakes a variety of endoscopy procedures both diagnostic and therapeutic including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and Flexible Cystoscopy.
This role will be working in a busy dynamic working environment ensuring accurate and efficient booking of endoscopic procedures ensuring full utilisation of the endoscopy theatre suite.
This fast paced role will provide the right candidate with variety and an ongoing sense of achievement. This role is situated in the administrative hub within the unit where you will be supported by a high quality and enthusiastic team.
Job responsibilities
- Managing waiting lists in accordance to NHS guidance and internal access policy
- Providing excellent patient communication skills both on the telephone and in person
- Supporting the Endoscopy Clinical team with tasks to ensure smooth running of the unit on a daily basis
- To manage challenging and sometimes upsetting conversations with patients
Qualifications & Role Specific Knowledge
- Good standard of secondary education – 3 GCSEs or equivalent
- Relevant experience preferably in a healthcare setting
- Ability to use Word, Email and Hospital IT systems
- Flexibility in line with service needs
- Self‑motivated and able to use own initiative
- Reliable & punctual
Abilities
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to constantly re‑evaluate workload and change priorities according to service demand
Communication Skills
- Must be able to use a variety of communication methods
- Must remain calm and professional under pressure

£25,760 to £27,476 a year pro rata, per annum
