FutureGen Recruitment is representing a leading Yorkshire planning consultancy seeking an MRTPI Associate Planner to take a key role in delivering major residential planning projects and supporting the continued growth of the Leeds team.
This is a pivotal appointment within the business. The successful candidate will combine high-level planning delivery with leadership, client management and commercial responsibilities.
The Role
As an Associate Planner, you will be responsible for both project delivery and team development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic residential planning projects and regeneration schemes
- Managing key client relationships, ensuring repeat business and satisfaction
- Overseeing Local Plan promotion strategies and landowner submissions
- Supporting and managing planning appeals and hearing preparation
- Mentoring junior planners and supporting career development
- Supporting fee proposals, tender submissions and client pitches
- Managing project timelines, budgets and consultant coordination
This is a role offering clear progression toward Associate Director.

- Strong background in consultancy, developer or local authority planning
- Proven ability to manage clients and lead projects independently
- Strong leadership qualities and mentoring experience
- Commercially minded with interest in business growth and client development
