They are now looking to grow their team through the hire of a Principal Project Engineer.
Their intelligent energy management system is designed to optimise energy usage, particularly in behind-the-meter applications. Backed by extensive research and development, these smart, sustainable solutions have demonstrated real-world effectiveness and can be deployed quickly and cost-efficiently.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing Senior Operations team, where you will take ownership of engineering activities across the full project lifecycle.
Role:Principal Project Engineer
Location:London
Salary:£90,000–£110,000
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with all technical and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Engineering: Lead the development of electrical designs and schematics, define system components, and review work completed by suppliers and contractors.
- System Integration: Configure and optimise battery storage, EV charging, and renewable energy systems within an intelligent management platform.
- Client & Partner Interface: Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and third‑party installers, providing guidance to support seamless project delivery.
Required Experience
- 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS), alongside 10+ years in electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems and supervisory control systems.
- Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with grid codes, regulatory frameworks, and best practices for distributed energy resources (DER) and BESS projects.
