Associate Civil Engineer – Highways/Infrastructure

£60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus
Alfred Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading UK independent multi-disciplinary engineering and built environment consultancy to appoint an Associate Infrastructure Engineer to their Birmingham team.
This is a key hire within a growing civil engineering division, offering the opportunity to take on project leadership, client responsibility, and team development within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As an Associate, you will play a central role in both project delivery and team leadership, working closely with senior leadership while managing your own portfolio of work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of residential infrastructure projects from feasibility through to construction
- Managing project programmes, resources, and commercial performance
- Overseeing the production of planning and technical submissions (S38, S278, S104)
- Undertaking site feasibility and due diligence assessments
- Acting as a key client contact, building and maintaining strong relationships
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers
- Supporting wider business development and team growth
About You
- Proven experience at Senior / Associate level within civil/infrastructure engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of UK drainage, highways, and flood risk design
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Flow, Causeway PDS (or similar)
- Demonstrable experience in project leadership and client-facing roles
- Experience managing or mentoring teams
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
