Our client, a leading entity in the automotive industry, is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent opportunity where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing quality standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Manager and deputise in their absence, including hosting third‑party and customer audits and reviews.
- Assist in maintaining the company Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
- Complete internal audits and special process workstation assessments as per schedule and promptly produce the reports.
- Follow up with internal departments regarding Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) raised from external and internal sources.
- Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and appraisals, if applicable.
- Draft Quality Plans and Methods Statements as required.
- Control the release of technical documents to production.
- Complete internal, external, and customer First Article Inspections (FAIs) for projects as needed.
- Maintain the calibration system and manage the external calibration service provider.
- Support the mechanical inspector regarding inspection at the goods inwards department.
- Conduct process and quality training for induction and special processes.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Education: degree or HNC level. Engineering or technical background, knowledge of engineering standards.
- Experience with quality systems in a safety‑critical engineering environment.
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
- Desired experience with special processes.
- Experience in Quality Assurance techniques and ability to make recommendations to management.
- Fully conversant with measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
- Focused on mentoring and developing others to foster a quality culture within the company.
