Project Manager

Industry: Oil Field Services

Contract: 1 year initially with plan to move to permanent position after probation if all goes well

Pay Rate / Salary: highly negotiable, please contact for details

Working Pattern: Full time, 5 days per week, hybrid model: 3 days in office 2 days at home

Key area of expertise required: completion tools, subsea valves, subsea mechanical components

Industry experience required: design and manufacturing of the tools listed above

Responsibilities

  • Lead large internal, outsourced or customer‑funded projects involving multiple disciplines and functional groups.
  • Develop and negotiate approval for the project charter and scope; ensure completion of technical and detailed product specifications.
  • Communicate needs during the project’s life cycle with customers, management, project team and other stakeholders.
  • Plan schedule, identify activities, document dependencies, estimate effort, and manage changes to minimize impact on project.
  • Define and negotiate project team resources and obtain commitments from involved groups.
  • Determine required resources and project budget; monitor and control the budget throughout the project.
  • Identify, analyze and mitigate project risks; monitor and control risk.
  • Determine procurement requirements, obtain bids, select vendors and work with Procurement.
  • Monitor HSE and Quality standards for compliance and continuous improvement.

Environment

Ability to work within an API Q1/ISO 9001 design environment and to adhere to QHSE philosophy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum 12 years of oil and gas industry experience, 6‑11 years in project management.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 qualification desirable.
  • Experience in project management of oilfield mechanical product/system design projects.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes.
  • Project leadership and governance of technically complex, multi‑disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Technical oversight and assurance with sufficient engineering depth to assess risks and support project decision‑making.
  • Stakeholder management and communication, coordinating customers, engineering disciplines, manufacturing and supply chain teams.
  • Risk and reliability management, including tracking of technical risks and FMEA outputs.
  • Programme planning and execution, including development and control of project schedules and budgets.
