Job Description:

Senior Server Support Engineer

Predominantly Remote – 1 day per month in Oxford

I’m currently working with a well-established technology business supporting high-availability, customer-facing platforms, who are looking to hire an experienced Server Support Engineer into a newly evolving team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across both infrastructure support and project delivery, within a modern Microsoft and cloud-based environment.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving critical production systems operating at scale, supporting a wide user base across multiple environments. The position combines hands-on technical support with involvement in planning, implementing and optimising infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain Windows Server environments (including clustering, NLB and IIS)
  • Manage core Microsoft services (Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, Defender, Teams)
  • Work across cloud and edge infrastructure (AWS, Cloudflare, CDN, DNS, WAF)
  • Handle incident management, monitoring and root cause analysis
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements and project work
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong Windows Server / infrastructure support experience
  • Exposure to Microsoft cloud technologies (M365 / Entra stack)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar) and networking concepts
  • Comfortable supporting high-availability environments with an on-call rota (approx. 1 week in 6)
  • Strong communication skills

The Offer:

  • Hybrid working (primarily remote, with ~1 day per month in Oxford)
  • Salary around £50,000
  • Structured on-call rota
  • Opportunity to join a growing engineering team with real influence on systems and process

If you’re interested, feel free to reach out directly or apply and I’ll be in touch.
