Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facilities Supervisor to manage and maintain critical infrastructure, ensuring our data centres operate safely, securely, and efficiently at all times.

The Role

As a Data Centre Facilities Supervisor, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within a mission‑critical environment. You will play a key role in ensuring uptime, compliance, and continuous improvement across all facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure including:
  • CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC systems
  • BMS/EMS monitoring and control systems
  • High/low voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, grounding
  • Manage mechanical systems:
  • HVAC, air handling units, ventilation, filtration, humidity and temperature control
  • Deliver planned preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM)
  • Lead incident response, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis
  • Support change management, commissioning, and facility upgradesEnsure integration and optimisation of building systems (BMS/EMS, SCADA, alarms)
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (LOTO, permits, fire systems)
  • Drive energy efficiency initiatives (PUE, cooling optimisation, sustainability targets)
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and service agreements
  • Support capital projects including planning, budgeting, commissioning, and handover

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 3–7 years’ experience in data centres or mission‑critical environments
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical infrastructure

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Power systems (mains feeds, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS, ATS, PDUs)
  • Cooling systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, pump skids, HVAC)
  • BMS/PMS systems and monitoring tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (SLDs, P&IDs, schematics)
  • Knowledge of thermal management, energy efficiency, and data centre best practices
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and data centre environments

Qualifications

  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (NVQ, ONC/OND, Degree or equivalent)
  • Relevant certifications such as IFMA, HVAC‑R, or electrical safety training are advantageous
