This is a high-impact engineering role within a globally recognised financial services environment, focused on delivering a large-scale Data Centre Transformation programme.
You’ll join a core network team responsible for modernising critical infrastructure following a major separation programme, giving you exposure to end-to-end network ownership across design, build, migration, and production rollout.
The team operates in a hands‑on, engineering‑led environment, where you’ll work across complex enterprise networks, contribute to key transformation initiatives, and play a direct role in shaping the future state of the organisation’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and implement enterprise network solutions
- Deliver across a major data centre transformation programme
- Support network migrations, optimisation, and traffic engineering
- Decommission legacy infrastructure and consolidate services
- Configure and manage routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Own network performance, stability, and continuous improvement
- Produce technical documentation including runbooks and handovers
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across infrastructure and operations
- Support planned migration activities (including occasional weekend work)
Technical Environment
- Enterprise routing and switching
- Data centre environments and migrations
Skills / Must Have
- Strong experience with Cisco Data Centre technologies
- Solid Routing & Switching expertise (CCNP level or equivalent)
- Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot enterprise‑grade networks
- Hands‑on experience with Fortinet / FortiGate firewalls
- Strong understanding of network security principles
- Ability to operate both independently and within a team
- Experience working in complex, large‑scale environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with Juniper networking technologies
- Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls
- Background in financial services or regulated environments
Working Pattern
- London – Hybrid working
- 3 days onsite (likely reducing to 1–2 days)
- Work on a business‑critical transformation programme
- High ownership within a core engineering team
- Exposure to large‑scale, complex network environments
- Strong visibility across infrastructure and leadership teams
- Up to £70,000 base salary DOE
