Category Spend Responsibility: ~ £80 million

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Category Procurement Manager to lead our global polymers category, managing an annual spend of approximately £80 million. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing category strategies that deliver value, innovation, and supply security across a complex and dynamic market.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for polymers aligned with business objectives
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management
  • Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives across the category
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities within the polymers sector
  • Drive supplier performance through KPIs, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, sustainability goals, and risk management frameworks

About You

  • Proven experience in procurement or category management, ideally within polymers, chemicals, or related industries
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of managing large polymer or Resin spend categories (preferably £50m+) both virgin & recycled materials
  • Skilled negotiator with experience managing strategic supplier relationships
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into action
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Degree qualified in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain, Business, Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable
