You will scale missile production to 1 million units per year over two years through a distributed network of manufacturing nodes.
Mission
Every month, drones injure and kill thousands of Ukrainians. Munin builds point-defense systems to stop that. Our first product is a micro-missile designed to intercept small drones at close range. It is small enough to carry three systems in a soldier’s vest and cheap enough for mass deployment. Our goal is to change the battlefield in Ukraine through very high-volume production, then deliver proven systems to NATO.
Role summary
We are hiring a Founding Production Engineer. You will design and build the manufacturing systems, test rigs, and workflows required to produce millions of units reliably. When you need more capacity, you will build the production team around you. The work will take place between England and Kyiv, over the next two years, mainly the latter. There you will work with the rest of the founding team, mainly from Western-Europe, and incorporate feedback from Ukrainan soldiers. You will not operate near front-line areas. Work in Ukraine is conditional on a stable security situation.
What you will do
- Design and build production lines tooling and fixtures
- Develop test and calibration rigs
- Design missile components for manufacture (injection molding)
- Remove bottlenecks quickly
- Set up QC processes and end-of-line testing
- Build and manage production teams
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience building electromechanical systems
- Experience shipping systems under time pressure
- Strong CAD skills
- High personal drive and tolerance for long, intense work periods
- Comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end with minimal supervision

- Experience with DFM and production line design
- Experience with supply chain and vendor management
- Startup experience
- Serious personal engineering projects outside work or university

Speed
In four months, we went from concept to a robust missile prototype that is smaller and cheaper than any missile, can be fired with one hand, and reliably intercepts FPV drones. Recent work includes:
- Working with partners in the Ukrainian armed forces to go from pre-idea to warhead design, production, and live-fire testing in 24 hours
- Car-mounted missile testing at 200 km/h
- Building an air cannon in two days, then destructively testing 50 missiles to diagnose a hardware issue
- Six launches in a single day, with design iterations between each launch
