We are seeking an experienced Electrical Electronic Engineer to act as the go-to escalation point for medium to high-complexity electrical and electronic faults. This role offers a strong emphasis on fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, with heavy exposure to PLCs, drives, and control systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as the primary escalation point for medium to high-complexity electrical and electronic faults.
  • Engage in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to address regular breakdowns, especially where issues surpass obvious failures.
  • Handle electrical and electronic fault finding, particularly with drives, sensors, and PLC-related issues.
  • Undertake programming and modification of PLCs and drives, working across both legacy and modern equipment.
  • Conduct obsolescence reviews and component upgrades.
  • Participate in small automation projects such as panel rewires, system upgrades, and energy-saving initiatives.
  • Lead larger upgrade projects, including PLC migrations (e.g., S5 to S7).
  • Work autonomously while having OEM support, managing corrugator and converting machinery across all areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong background in electronics/controls engineering.
  • Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding capability on live production equipment.
  • Experience across a variety of machinery and control platforms.
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of responsibility.
  • Experience and attitude are prioritised over formal qualifications.

Benefits:

  • Flexible working hours with an early finish on Fridays.
  • Supportive and stable work environment with a good culture.
  • Part of an engineering team of 16, complementing the double days team.
  • Training and specialist courses supported.
  • Lots of autonomy in the role.
  • No on-call duties.

Interview Process:

  • One-stage, face-to-face interview including a factory tour and a technical/scenario-based discussion.
  • We are looking to move quickly with the hiring process. xwzovoh
