The Delivery Management function for the Technology Directorate drives performance, accountability and transparency; it efficiently supports business operations and helps the delivery of large‑volume technology. As an enabling function, it provides a range of processes, tools and support to ensure the directorate can deliver high-quality, reliable Digital Workplace, Infrastructure and Live Services.
Role Overview
As a member of the Technical Delivery team, the role actively manages and delivers technical projects. The post holder, with experience of delivering projects to a high standard, must also demonstrate or quickly acquire technical skills to enable delivery of specialist technology projects.
Responsibilities
- Planning and designing the projects and proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
- Ensuring delivery of new products or services from projects achieves the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and governance arrangements
- Managing blended teams of internal and external resources
- Holding external suppliers to account for delivery of outcomes
- Ensuring all standard project artefacts (Business cases, PDD, reporting dashboard, risk and issue registers, Plan, Schedule, etc.) are complete, current and appropriately stored in accordance with the Programme Framework
- Managing risks to the project’s successful outcome
Expectations
- Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices.
