Responsibilities
- Define and communicate clear strategies and objectives for the pre‑construction team, ensuring alignment with client expectations
- Collaborate directly with key clients, other stakeholders and estimating and planning
- Work hand‑in‑hand with the Business Development team to develop robust submissions that support project win strategies and transition from ECl to construction award
- Ensure seamless progression through the stage‑gated governance process, with full compliance
- Oversee design development, manage consultant outputs, and ensure effective coordination across disciplines, including HV Plant, Protection & Control, and Civils
- Maintain an updated and consistent tendering process for consistency and accuracy across projects
- Champion early risk reduction and defect avoidance, embedding a culture of safety and continuous improvement
- Produce clear monthly reporting and contribute to resource planning and workload forecasting for feasibility and pre‑construction services
- Facilitate collaboration across Burns & McDonnell UKO and other business units to drive improvement and embed lessons learned
- Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting skills growth in pre‑construction disciplines
- Additional duties as required by the line manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 7 years direct program / project management experience
- Higher National Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 8 years direct program/ project management experience
- Higher National Certificate in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 9 years direct program/ project management experience
- General Certificate of Secondary Education in related field and 10 years direct program/project management experience – Strong understanding of all construction disciplines
- Excellent communication skills and supervisory skills of field construction personnel
- Must be able to meet company’s driving requirements – Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite
