Overview

Empowr-U CIC is dedicated to empowering young people and their communities by providing support, education, and resources to help them take control of their physical, social and mental health and well-being. Position Overview

  • As the Fundraiser/Bid Writer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to meet our fundraising goals.
  • You will identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and grant-making organisations, and build strong partnerships that align with the organisation’s values and mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement fundraising plans and strategies to meet fundraising targets.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and grant-making organisations.
  • Diversify Empowr-U’s funding streams to include multiple forms
  • Lead any freelance or bid writers that we work with, setting clear objectives.
  • Develop in-kind funding streams that complement our work
  • Write and submit grant proposals and fundraising applications.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.
  • Manage donor and sponsor relationships and ensure their ongoing engagement.
  • Work closely with the team to develop engaging content for fundraising campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations and guidelines.
  • Write successful grant funding applications for Empowr-U and third-party organisations

Person Specification

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising.
  • Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets.
  • Experience in writing and submitting grant proposals and fundraising applications.
  • Experience in planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of fundraising principles and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of relevant fundraising regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent qualification would be useful to demonstrate ability in written communication, but other ways of demonstrating this could be equally as important.

Salary, Hours and Perks

  • Part-time or full-time can be considered.
  • The salary is £25k-£32,500 pro rata, dependent on experience and qualifications. If you are currently in a higher salaried role this can be discussed at the interview.
