Refuse Driver

Overview

We are currently looking for a Refuse Driver based in Derby. This is a temporary contract (ongoing).

Hours: Monday – Friday, 06:00am – 15:45pm. Pay rate: £15.56 per hour (PAYE).

Responsibilities

• Safely drive refuse collection vehicles on planned collection routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance issues.
• Collect household, recycling, garden waste, and commercial waste in line with scheduled rounds.
• Work closely with refuse loaders to ensure collections are completed efficiently and safely.
• Operate vehicle lifting equipment and other collection mechanisms correctly.
• Ensure compliance with road traffic legislation, health and safety regulations, and council policies.
