Job Advert Are you an experienced catering professional with a passion for quality, consistency and supporting teams to perform at their best? We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to join our Facilities (Soft FM) team, supporting school kitchens across the Falkirk Council area. In this hands‑on supervisory role, you will support catering operations across a designated group of Primary, Early Years and Secondary schools, including the delivery of transported meals. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, supporting Senior Cooks, and ensuring services consistently meet quality, safety and customer service expectations. What You’ll Do Support day‑to‑day catering operations across a defined group of school kitchens Allocate and provide operational support to Senior Cooks and frontline teams Organise, supervise and support staff, including rotas, inductions and on‑the‑job guidance Support Senior Cooks with dietary requirements and menu delivery Assist in maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and kitchen controls Carry out audits of kitchens and services, reporting findings and improvement actions Support staff with absence reporting, exception timesheets and incident reporting Ensure equipment records, menus and digital systems are accurately maintained What We’re Looking For Relevant catering experience, ideally with supervisory responsibilities City & Guilds 706 Part 1 and 2 (or equivalent) Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (essential) Strong organisational, communication and people skills Experience supporting teams in a busy, frontline catering environment Confidence using basic IT systems and digital platforms A supportive, structured and quality‑focused approach to supervision The Role Location: Falkirk High School Hours: 35 hours per week Days: Monday to Friday, 7am to 2.30pm (1/2-hour unpaid break) Contract: Term Time, Part Time, Permanent Grade: F Line Management: Senior Cooks, Assistant Cooks and Catering Assistants Reporting to: Building Services Officer Why Join Us?
