Project Quantity Surveyor – Residential Groundworks

Location: Cheltenham

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (PAYE or LTD)

Salary: Up to £70,000 (DOE) + Company Benefits / LTD Rate Available

About the Company

Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor delivering high-quality groundwork packages for major housebuilders across the South West and Midlands. With a strong reputation for safety, quality, and reliable project delivery, they have built long-standing relationships within the housing sector.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are now seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of residential developments in and around Cheltenham.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Project Quantity Surveyor with residential groundworks experience to join a reputable and growing contractor. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of a residential groundworks project, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and cost control from tender stage through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Manage project budgets, cost plans, and commercial reporting

Carry out take-offs and assist with tender and procurement processes

Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients

Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow

Work closely with site teams and project managers to resolve commercial matters

Manage variations and ensure accurate commercial records are maintained

Contribute to monthly cost value reconciliation and financial reporting

Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks or civil engineering

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

Ability to manage the commercial aspects of a project independently

Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
