Location: Watford (Hybrid)Salary: £45,000 + benefitsContract: Full-time, permanentOverview We are seeking a commercially minded Commercial Finance Analyst / FP&A Analyst to join our finance team in Watford. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with the business, analysing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision‑making. You will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, month‑end reporting, and providing insight to senior stakeholders. This position suits a part‑qualified finance professional (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) looking to develop within a fast‑paced, commercially focused environment.

Key Responsibilities Commercial Finance & Business Partnering

  • Support commercial teams with financial insight to drive performance and improve profitability.
  • Analyse sales, margin, pricing, and customer performance, identifying drivers and trends.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to influence commercial strategy.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business cases, scenario analysis, and investment decisions.
  • Monitor KPIs, highlighting risks and opportunities across revenue and cost lines.

FP&A (Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning)

  • Assist with the annual budget and regular reforecasting cycles.
  • Consolidate inputs from multiple business units and challenge assumptions where appropriate.
  • Prepare variance analysis, bridging performance between actuals, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Support long-term strategic planning and rolling forecasts.

Month-End Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end analysis including revenue, gross margin, opex and overhead reporting.
  • Prepare journals (accruals, prepayments, adjustments) where required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with group deadlines.
  • Reconcile key accounts and work closely with the Financial Accounting team to ensure data integrity.
  • Create dashboards and financial packs for senior management review.

Data & Systems

  • Work with Excel and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to improve reporting efficiency.
  • Enhance existing reporting frameworks and develop automated processes where possible.
  • Maintain financial models and ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Part‑qualified or recently qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset.
  • Excel skills at an advanced level (pivot tables, lookups, modelling).
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to present complex data clearly.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders across multiple teams. xwzovoh
