Role – Supply Chain Planner

Tatas Corby works are seeking a Supply Chain Planner to assist an established team with material and production planning, liaison with internal stakeholders and maintaining an accurate database. The successful applicant will be an individual with strong IT literacy, a proactive nature and previous experience working with stakeholders of all levels.

Pay

£28,000 – £33,000 per annum (based upon experience) – £14.75 – £17.39 per hour.

Location

Tata Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA – 100% office based with the view (after training) to offer X2 days remote working.

Shift Pattern

Mon‑Fri 07:30‑15:30, 36.5 hours per week (breaks unpaid).

Duration

6 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent role.

Start

ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical, which does include a drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

  • Pre plan shipments (where possible) referencing the Master Production schedule.
  • Liaise with the production teams to ensure effective delivery of production.
  • Monitor agreed costs against supplier invoices.
  • Use the planning tools and software systems accurately.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to maintain and exceed service standards.
  • Identify failure against plan and deliveries and recommend resolutions accordingly.
  • Identify potential peaks in customer demand and propose corrective actions accordingly.
  • Support the Customer Service and Commercial team functions to ensure product availability and delivery.
  • Provide weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports as requested on customer and trend analysis.
  • Communicate with Production Managers on a daily basis via telephone and email.
  • Use MS Excel at an intermediate level including formulas, VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Adhere to UK Health and Safety legislation at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Experience Needed

  • Prior experience in a Supply Chain/Planner/Scheduler role.
  • Capacity to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Strong IT literacy skills including MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with in‑house IT systems.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience using SAP (desirable).
